AI features on this Platform are used solely for administrative and operational purposes. AI does not provide legal advice, make legal decisions, or replace the professional judgment of qualified Barristers. All legal advice is provided exclusively by BSB regulated Barristers.
1. How We Use AI
HireABarrister.com uses AI powered features to improve the efficiency of our Platform. These features are strictly administrative and include:
- Case Intake Processing: Organising information you provide about your legal matter into a structured brief for Barristers to review.
- Matching: Suggesting Barristers whose practice areas and experience align with your legal matter.
- Communication Assistance: Helping to summarise case updates and format messages.
2. AI Subprocessors
OpenAI
Used for natural language processing in case intake and matching. Data is processed via the API with zero data retention enabled. OpenAI does not use your data for training.
Anthropic
Used as an alternative AI provider for certain processing tasks. Data is processed via the API. Anthropic does not use your data for training.
3. Data Handling
- AI processing is performed via API calls. No data is stored by AI providers beyond the duration of the request.
- We do not send personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers to AI providers unless strictly necessary for the feature.
- All data transmitted to AI providers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for model training.
4. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Know when AI is being used to process your information
- Request that AI processing be disabled for your account where feasible
- Request human review of any AI assisted decision
- Access information about what data has been processed by AI

5. Changes to This Notice
